Amalfi Coast

Italy stole my heart the first time I visited, but after seeing the Amalfi Coast, I fell in love all over again. The whole boat ride to Capri was magical, it felt like a dream. I couldn’t believe I was there. I had been viewing Amalfi Coast tik toks religiously for weeks anticipating the trip and being there physically was an out of body experience for me. I can’t explain it any other way… I am so happy to be alive, I’m so grateful to have the opportunity to travel to these majestic places. I could definitely retire in a place like this. The food, views, culture, and peace this place offers makes it a real-life paradise. I have never felt so safe in a place that isn’t my home. This is what Amalfi made me feel while I was there. Safety. Joy. Fulfillment. Gratitude. The road from Sorrento to Praiano runs along the coast and the drive is pleasant but a bit scary because of how curvy, narrow and the altitude they are at. I am convinced the drivers here are one of the best in the world because of the skills needed to drive Via G. Marconi. If you visit the Amalfi coast be prepared to walk uphill and climb stairs. I had never walked so much uphill in my life. In Capri, we climbed to the center of Capri by foot instead of taking the funicolare. When you visit, take comfortable shoes because that climb is no joke.

Our boat captain was extremely hospitable. He brought us exquisite mozzarella sandwiches, and a variety of beverages. He stopped to let us swim, the water was so refreshing in the heat. It was like swimming in a huge swimming pool. Flipping into the ocean from the boat was so much fun. When we arrived at Faraglioni aka the “Tunnel of Love”, he played “Bohemian Rhapsody” and the moment could not have been more perfect. The legend goes that if you kiss your other half while going through the arch, it's sealing your love for a lifetime. This was probably the best part of the whole experience. Cosita when you read this, I just want you to know I am so honored to share this love with you. You are my rock, my best friend, my biggest advocate, and we make the best team my love. Ti amo tantissimo tesoro mio!! I will love you in this lifetime and every one thereafter. Thank you for choosing to love me. I wouldn’t want it any other way.

Amalfi will hold a special place in my heart, and I wish for  everyone to find their own safe haven destination away from home. Cheers to creating more memories abroad!

To my husband: you know how much I love to stay on theme with my posts so I chose this version because Laura (an Italian) is in it. Si tuviera la voz te la cantaria… but for now the piano version shall suffice.
