2020 NBA Conference Final Picks
This blog is for those NBA enthusiasts out there!! Now that we are on the brink of closing out the first round of the play offs, I am going to go ahead and predict who’s going to advance to the conference finals.
Since I live on the east coast I’ll start with the Eastern conference. Gauging how the Celtics played vs. The 76ers, mainly Jayson Tatum, I am going to say they will make it to the Eastern Conference Finals. The kid knows how to run the ball and make plays. Now it could have been the fact that Philly were just a terrible team (no Ben Simmons) and it was an easy sweep, but throughout the season Kemba, Jayson, and Jalen Brown demonstrated they play well together. Celtics had to make adjustments due to Gordon Hayward’s Grade 3 ankle injury. They ruled him out for four weeks which means the Celtics will have to play the semi’s without him and hope he’s good to go for the finals.
The second pick I have on the East coast are the Milwaukee Bucks. Giannis has a better team supporting him this year in my opinion. The Bucks will have to show up and show though because the Heat looks pretty solid so far. Jimmy Butler’s Heat rammed through the Pacers so this matchup will be a good one.

Now to the West. Oh boy this one is a nail biter to say the least. Nobody saw OKC evening out the series, so those who have the Rockets as a favorite to win it all are now doubtful. As for the Utah Jazz vs Nuggets series, Mike Conley’s presence can be seen and appreciated. He missed the first two games due to the birth of his son and having to stay in quarantine four days before rejoining the team. He is one of the best 3pt shooters in the league so there’s no question the Nuggets have had issues stopping him. The Clippers should have been down 3-1 if it wasn’t for Porzingis stupid ejection in game 1. As much as I hate the Clippers, I still think they will get by Luka’s Mavs. The Trail Blazers are done with the injury of their superstar, Damian Lillard. Which leads me to my first contender to make it to the Western Conference Finals: Los Angeles Lakers. LeBron wants to make Kobe proud and will do anything and everything to get his guys to follow through. As for the second contender, I will say it will be the Clippers as much as I hate them. (SN: Kawhi used to be my favorite player in the league, I supported him all the years he played for my San Antonio Spurs. When he injured his quad in 2018 and basically cried about how it was being treated by the Spurs organization, I was annoyed and the move to the Clippers basically solidified the end of my fandom lol.) Kawhi has shown he has what it takes to lead a team and take them to a championship so even though “Play off P” has been atrocious and yet to be seen, The Klaw is good enough to continue to win without him.
